(PIX11)-- It should get interesting today with the Mayor set to deliver a speech at the NYPD graduation ceremonies at Madison Square Garden Monday morning.

The Mayor does it every year to applause.

What will happen this year?

As one officer was laid to rest last weekend the other will be laid to rest this weekend.

With the city divided, many say its a time to heal.

NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton Sunday condemned his officers for turning their backs on Mayor Bill de Blasio during the funeral for officer.

Rafael Ramos, one of the two officers shot and killed in their squad earlier this month.

This comment comes after a huge show of solidarity by police this weekend.

More than 20,000 officers stood strong together to mourn the tremendous loss of the NYPD.

Officers outside the Christ Tabernacle Church in Queens could be Saturday turning their backs to the Jumbotron screen broadcasting the service as Mayor de Blasio spoke.

With Mayor de Blasio set to speak today at the NYPD graduation at Madison Square Garden, Commissioner Bratton made sure to make it clear how he feels about the action.

Caught in the middle of a political war of words between the mayor and police in recent weeks, Bratton insisted de Blasio has been supportive of police.

He says the city has given the NYPD hundreds of millions of dollars to improving officer safety.

Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani spoke this weekend too and blasted officers for turning their backs on de Blasio but believes he should apologize to the NYPD and suggested to cut ties with Rev. Al Sharpton.
