One taken to hospital in cardiac arrest after fire at Upper East Side apartment

MANHATTAN (PIX11) — One person was transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest after a 1-alarm fire started in an apartment on the Upper East Side.

Officials say the fire started around 7 p.m. at 28 E. 73rd St., in a seventh floor apartment.

The unidentified person was taken to New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center in cardiac arrest.

No other injuries were reported.

The fire was contained to one apartment.
