THE BRONX (PIX11) — A man who allegedly pulled a woman off a Bronx street and raped her early Christmas morning has turned himself in, police said.

At around 6:20 a.m. on Thursday, the victim was walking opposite 2190 Boston Road when Jose Roys engaged her in conversation. Cops say Roys then punched the woman in the face, dragged her into a secluded area and raped her.

Roys then fled, and police say he turned himself in at 1:40 a.m. Friday morning and confessed to the crime. Roys, of the Bronx, was charged with rape, robbery, criminal sex act and assault. Before the arrest, police released a surveillance video of the suspect.

Police say the victim was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.
