BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, Brooklyn (PIX11) -- Engine 222 in Brooklyn have moved fire trucks after threat was lodged against the NYPD precinct next door.

Heavily armed police officers are on guard at the 81st and 79th Precincts in Brooklyn after a credible NYPD informant warns a Baltimore street gang called Black Guerrilla Family planned to storm the precincts and stage a shoot-out with police.

SEA president Ed Mullins tweeted this and the NYPD confirms the treat is one the department is taking seriously.

In a statement the Mayor said,  "cowardly threats of violence against police will not be tolerated."

Community Leader Salaam Ismial agrees with the mayor.

Ismial said "I appeal to the gang members that this is not the way to go".

The threat comes in the wake of the shooting death of two NYPD officers.

At the very scene where the shooting happened, despite the rain all day we found fellow officers, friends and just random people placing flowers and candles on a massive memorial.

Marty Grace came all the way from Queens.

"I had to come a pay respect to the officers, said Grace. "It's sad."
