Suspect threatened man with large sword, robbed him inside Queens pet store: cops

KEW GARDENS, Queens (PIX11) -- Police are searching for a sword-wielding suspect who robbed a man inside of a Queens pet store.

The robbery occurred Dec. 13 around 5 p.m. at Petland Discounts Store at 85-17 126th St. in Kew Gardens, police say.

According to police, the suspect entered the store, pulled out a large sword and demanded money.

The suspect then fled the scene with around $400 and a Samsung cell phone.

No injuries were reported.

Police released surveillance video showing the suspect at a nearby store.

The suspect is described as 5-foot-7 and was last seen wearing a tan jacket, Yankees hat and blue jeans.
