Gunman shoots Subway restaurant employee in failed robbery attempt: police

BROOKLYN (PIX11) — A gunman shot a Subway restaurant employee Tuesday night when he refused to hand over cash, police said.

The suspect entered the Subway restaurant location at 4375 White Plans Road around 8:26 p.m. and displayed a firearm. He demanded money from a 20-year-old employee, police said.

When the employee refused, the man shot him in the abdomen and then fled on foot southbound on White Plans Road. The victim was taken to Jacobi Hospital in stable condition.

The gunman is a 16 to 20-year-old male who was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, black face mask and black and white sneakers.
