MANHATTAN (PIX11) — The New York Rangers held a moment of silence Sunday for the two NYPD officers who were killed the day before.

The moment of silence for Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu was held before the team’s match against the Carolina Hurricanes.

“Ladies and gentlemen, yesterday afternoon New York Police Department Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu tragically lost their lives in the line of duty. At this time we would like to observe a moment of silence for these men and their families and to acknowledge all the men and women in uniform who put their lives on the line each and everyday,” a person said over the loudspeaker.
