EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (PIX11) — New York Jets center Nick Mangold walked into Metlife Stadium for Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots wearing a NYPD baseball hat, showing support for the two police officers who were murdered just one day before.

In a season filled with nation-wide protests, professional athletes have taken to their apparel to show support for the causes they believe in.

Officers Rafael Ramos and his partner Wenjian Liu were targeted and killed execution-style Saturday in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn while they were sitting in their car.

The Jets held a moment of silence before the game in honor of Ramos and Liu.
