(PIX11) — Citizens of New York City and beyond are mourning the shooting deaths of two NYPD officers one day after they were assassinated execution-style while sitting in their cars in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn,

Mourners took to the streets and social media to express their condolences for the fallen officers and their families.

Los Angeles Police Department Chief Charlie Beck announced on Twitter Saturday that LAPD officers will wear a black mourning band in honor of their “fallen brothers” in New York.

“Entourage” actor Adrian Grenier took to Instagram to pay tribute to the families of the officers killed in the line of duty.
