8 hurt after tractor trailers collide with NJ Transit bus

LINDEN, N.J. (PIX11) — Multiple people are hurt after three tractor trailers and a New Jersey Transit bus collided on the New Jersey Turnpike Wednesday morning, according to New Jersey State Police.

State police published details about the crash on the agency’s official Twitter page about 8:30 a.m., calling it a “serious crash.”

At least eight people were injured, one of them seriously, state police said. All of them were taken to a hospital.

The wreck happened in the turnpike’s northbound lanes near mile point 97.7 in Linden, the agency said.

Traffic was being diverted through the right lane and as of 10:20 a.m., three lanes of traffic remained closed, state police said.
