QUEENS (PIX11) -- Police this week renewed their call for help finding an attempted rapist who attacked a 15-year-old girl during the summer in Queens.

The attack happened about 11 p.m. July 12 near 109 Road and Farmers Boulevard in the southeastern section of Jamaica, Queens.

It began with the attacker starting a conversation with the victim that quickly turned violent. The man choked the teenager until she passed out then tried to rape her before running away, police said.

Investigators would not say what caused the man to flee the scene.

Video and photos released Tuesday shows the culprit, who is described as a black male in his early 20s last seen wearing red Adidas track pants and a red Adidas shirt. He has a tattoo on the right side of his neck and arm.

Anyone with information is urged to call NYPD’s anonymous Crime stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
