(PIX11) — Prince William and Duchess Catherine may have just come off a whirlwind trip to New York City, but that didn’t stop the future King and Queen of England from sharing some Christmas photos of their most prized possession: their son, Prince George.

Little George looks like he’s grown quite a bit since the world last spotted him on his first birthday at a butterfly garden at London’s Natural History Museum in July. While his resemblance to William around the same age is uncanny, it’s obvious that he got his plump, rosy cheeks from his mum.

The prince, third-in-line for the English throne, dons a white long-sleeve collared shirt, a vest embroidered with the iconic British guards in uniform, shorts and knee-high socks. In the three photos released by Clarence House, George is smiling and making funny faces reminiscent of the 'unimpressed' face that went viral on his trip to Australia and New Zealand with his parents.

The pictures were taken in the courtyard of the family's Kensington Palace home, US Magazine reported.

The 16-month old will be graced with the presence of a younger brother or sister come April. No word yet on the sex of the royal couple's second child, but it's almost guaranteed that he or she will be just as photogenic as George.
