BRYANT PARK (PIX11) -- It was a night that sparkled in Bryant Park with music, lights and smiles.

Organizers said they hoped the night raised spirits, and also awareness, a day after World AIDS Day.

"Tonight's a great night here in Bryant Park. We have our partners at Bank of America and Red who are here helping to support the end of AIDS and raising awareness and money," said Sarah Stutman, Bryant Park Director of Corporate Events and Partnerships.

Despite drizzle at points during Tuesday night, the lighting of the tree appeared to be a hit with the large crowd who waited patiently to see it.

Hundreds from all over came to see this tree up close.

Santa also made an appearance on the ice for this crowd.

A night to remember in Bryant Park until next year.
