NEW YORK (AP/PIX11) —A New York City police officer found himself on the other side of the law this weekend after he allegedly left the scene of a fender bender in Queens, authorities said.
Aaron Sanchez was arrested at about 11:30 p.m. Friday after he was involved in a crash at a Queens intersection, police said Saturday.
The driver followed Sanchez and called police, who stopped him. Police said the officer was arrested after a fellow member of the force noticed Sanchez had bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol.
Sanchez was arrested on charges of drunken driving and leaving the scene of an accident. No one answered the phone at a number believed to belong to Sanchez.
