NEW YORK (PIX11/AP)-- Thousands poured into Manhattan Thursday morning to watch the giant, iconic floats of the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.

Thursday's spectacle featured six new giant balloons, including Thomas the Tank Engine, Paddington bear and the Red Mighty Morphin Power Ranger.

The weather cooperated for the most part, with drizzle and 37-degree temperatures.  Winds were light, and the light snow that did fall came at the end of the parade.

Heading the parade was the Pride of the Mountains Marching Band, representing Western Carolina University.

Before the parade, the students hoped to set two records for the most cymbal players with 55, and the largest band with 505 members.
