Snowstorm leaves thousands without power in Tri-state area

(PIX11)– It’s the worst nightmare for many people waking up this Thanksgiving.

Wednesday’s snowstorm cut power to thousands of people in New York and New Jersey.

Orange and Rockland Utilities is reporting about 4,000 outages.

More than 1,600 customers in Orange County are without power as well as 1,800 in Sullivan County.

O&R expects for power to be restored Friday morning at 8 a.m.

Con Edison has less than 50 customers without power as of Thursday evening.

Earlier in the morning, just over 1,000 customers in Queens were without power.
