NEWBURGH, N.Y. (PIX11) — Two children are recovering after a passing snow plow apparently buried them in Newburgh.

Police say the children left their homes Wednesday around 6 p.m.,  to go play in the snow at a nearby parking lot.

A snow plow came by the parking lot and buried the kids.

When it was 11 p.m., and the children had not returned home, police and their parents began searching.

Police found the children under a large pile of snow around 2 a.m. at 147 Lake St.

The children were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital where they were treated for hypothermia.

It’s unknown how old the children are.

They were released Thursday morning.
