THE BRONX (PIX11) -- A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped inside an empty classroom of a Bronx school Tuesday morning, officials said.
Kevin Simpson, 19, allegedly pulled the girl across the classroom to a corner before sexually assaulting her inside Bronx Preparatory Charter School at 10:30 a.m., according to a criminal complaint.
The girl told police she continually told him to stop, but Simpson ignored her pleas. She also said Simpson held one of her arms back so she would be unable to push him away.
The complaint also states the girl involuntarily had oral sex with Simpson on three to five separate occasions inside the school. On each occasion, the girl told Simpson to stop, but was forced to perform the act anyway.
According to the New York Post, the girl was waiting inside the empty classroom for a teacher who never showed up for a tutoring lesson.
Simpson was arrested and arraigned Wednesday. He was charged with first-degree rape and pleaded not guilty. His bail was set at $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond.
"We reported the alleged crime immediately to the New York City Police Department and are cooperating fully as they investigate," Alice Maggin, a spokesperson for the school, said in a statement. "This morning we spoke with the young woman's mother again offering our support and resources."
All Bronx Prep parents were alerted of the incident Tuesday night.
"We are meeting with all our students through out the day, explaining what happened and taking their questions. At this point, the safety of our students is our urgent concern and trying to create normalcy in the building so they can continue to learn and grow as scholars," Maggin said.
Simpson's next appearance for potential Grand Jury action will be Nov. 24.
In October, a pair of boys, 13 and 14, were accused of raping two girls inside a Bronx middle school. The alleged attack happened Oct. 16 in J.H.S. 145 on 1000 Teller Avenue.
The girls, 12 and 13, notified their parents, who then called police. Both boys face rape and criminal sex act charges.
