Cops hunt for thief stealing purses around Williamsburg

WILLIAMSBURG, Brooklyn (PIX11) -- Cops are looking for a sneaky thief making his way around hip bars around Williamsburg snatching up unattended purses and making out with cell phones, cash and credit cards.

The suspect is a black or Hispanic male with short black hair around 30 years of age, 5'10" and weighing approximately 160 lbs.

On Sunday Sept. 14 at 9 p.m., he snatched up a 23-year-old's unattended bag which contained her iPhone and several credit cards at "The Well" on Meserole St.

Less than a month later, on Oct. 4 at 3 a.m., the same man went to "Tutus Brooklyn" to nab a 26-year-old's purse while she had a cigarette outside. Her bag also had several credit cards and $30 in cash.

A week later, on Oct. 12 at 3:30 a.m., the suspect nabbed another victim's unattended purse at "Trash Bar" on Grand Street containing an iPhone and multiple credit cards.

The next week, on Oct. 19 at 3:20 a.m., the suspect stole another female victim's bag at "Priviledge" on Graham Ave.
