GLEN RIDGE, N.J. (PIX11) -- In just moments, Griffin, a husky mix, went from a happy and healthy dog to a canine clinging to life.

On October 29, Griffin and his owner Lee Bowry went for their daily evening walk. They were surrounded by two pit bulls on Carteret Street in Glen Ridge, New Jersey.

"They started snapping and within seconds all hell broke loose and they started attacking us," Bowry told PIX11 News.

Part of the ordeal was recorded by the dash cam of a Glen Ridge police officer.

Griffin was left with severe injures and his owner was left with veterinarian bills close to $4,000. The dog still has to undergo more operations.

Griffin's dog walker, Jennifer Giulano-Dahn, started an online fundraising campaign to help pay for Griffin's medical care, to donate go to: http://www.youcaring.com/medical-fundraiser/help-griffin-heal/256198
