MEDFORD, Long Island (PIX11) – A curious dog gave his owner a scare when he decided to poke his head into the cat house –and got stuck.

The Medford resident had to call police to rescue “Buddy” after the Golden Retriever became solidly wedged in a small, round window of the dark-green miniature house.

Officers Stephen Lukas and Martin Gill of the Fifth Precinct, along with Sergeant Kit Gabrielsen, responded to the Holland Ave. home just after 11 a.m.

Getting Buddy free proved to be difficult, however, and the officers had to dismantle the cat house with crow bars and a hammer to free the Golden Retriever.

Buddy, uninjured, was reunited with his grateful owner.
