CHELSEA, N.Y. (PIX11) -- Fresh off her Broadway debut in Rogers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella,” Fran Drescher has a lot to celebrate, including her life as a newlywed.

A year after they met at an event called “Sages and Scientists,” Drescher and Dr. Shiva Ayyradurai -- who as a teen invented email -- were engaged.

“The Nanny” star is also the brand ambassador for Yes! by Finishing Touch, which gets rid of unwanted body hair.

A portion of the proceeds goes to Drescher’s Cancer Schmancer, created by the 14-year uterine cancer survivor to “turn pain into purpose.”

Initially, early detection was the group’s cornerstone. Now, they’re focusing on cancer prevention, specifically detoxifying homes to avoid environmentally stimulated cancers.
