THE BRONX (PIX11) -- An arrest has been made after gunfire broke out at a Bronx apartment building, mortally wounding two young men, police said.
Willie Stukes, 44, of the Bronx, faces two counts of second-degree murder in the victims’ deaths, NYPD said Tuesday.
The fatal shooting happened shortly before 11 a.m. Monday at the Morrisania Houses, a complex so dangerous that residents who spoke with PIX11 called it “Vietnam.”
Darryl Page, 26, and Tykquan Fennell, 23, both of the Bronx, were each shot once in the head and rushed to a hospital where they were pronounced dead, police said.
Fennell lives in the apartment building where he and Page were killed. Stukes lives about a block away from the scene of the crime, police said.
It was not immediately known how the men knew each other.
One of the few residents unafraid to go on camera said there was another shooting at the apartment building about 10 hours earlier, though it was not clear if the two incidents were related.
