NAPLES, Fla. (PIX11) -- A waiter going the extra mile was brought to tears by the kind gesture of a customer.

According to the Naples Daily News, Carlos Perez was rushing in between tables at Pazzo's in Naples when a couple sat at one of his tables.

The couple understood the business of the restaurant industry and told Perez to take his time.

When it came time to order, the man asked if the chef could make a veal Marsala.

The item was not on the menu, but Perez made it happen for him.

The customer then bought beer for the whole staff.

After the meal, the customer asked Perez what he would do if he had some money.

Perez promptly responded he would get his car fixed.

The Naples Daily News reports that the man told Perez he would get his car fixed and tipped him $1,500, the amount needed for the repair.

"I thank God for you and for what you've done and it couldn't have come at a better time," Perez said. "So I'm eternally grateful wherever you are."

The restaurant did not release the identity of the couple, but say are from Houston and have a home in Florida.
