(PIX11) — A 34-year-old man died after being tased by police who found him eating the body parts of a woman he had attacked, The Independent reported.

Police said Matthew Williams was eating the eyeball and face of 22-year-old Cerys Marie Yemm Wednesday when they used a 50,000-volt Taser to subdue him, and he became “unresponsive” while under arrest.

Security staff at a hostel for the homeless and criminals on bail in Wales became suspicious when Williams refused to let them into his room and forced entry. He had just been released from prison two weeks prior for a violent attack on his partner.

Williams had just met Yemm, asking her back to the hostel for a drink, police said. She died of her injuries.

Locals have reportedly nicknamed him “Hannibal Lecter” after the fictional cannibal character.

The murder is under investigation.
