BRIGHTON BEACH, Brooklyn (PIX11) — Police have arrested the estranged husband of a woman who was stabbed repeatedly on a Brooklyn street Friday afternoon.

The 22-year-old woman was walking to a subway station around 2 p.m., in Brighton Beach when she was approached from behind and stabbed multiple times.

Police say it happened around the corner of Brighton Beach Avenue and Brighton Sixth Street.

The woman told police she was stabbed by her estranged husband 30-year-old Ravshan Saibnazarova.

She was taken to Lutheran Hospital in stable condition.

Saibnazarova was charged with assault in the first degree.
