FLUSHING (PIX11) -- A 7-year-old boy is fighting for his life after he and his family were attacked at their Flushing home, possibly by the child's father, police said Thursday.
It happened about 9:20 p.m. Wednesday at a Jasmine Avenue apartment near 156th Street in Flushing.
Police said their initial investigation suggests a 49-year-old man used a weapon -- possibly a hammer knife -- to attack his family, including his son, his wife and the boy's grandmother.
Authorities said the child was stabbed in the neck and struck with the hammer knife. He was taken to a hospital and listed in critical but stable condition.
The two women -- ages 44 and 77 -- suffered stab wounds to the head, officials said.
A man, possibly the perpetrator of the attack, was found with his throat slashed, according to police.
All the adults were taken to a hospital in unknown condition.
