WILLIAMSBURG (PIX11)-- An employee at Roshan's Deli and Grocery on Broadway in Williamsburg claims a teen walked into the store Saturday evening, tried to scam the business, bit him on the arm and then tried to set him on fire.

The flames came "close to my face," Mohammed Wahwed told PIX 11 News.

Wahwed says although DaQuan Murrell wore a woman's wig when he entered the store Saturday evening around 6:30 he immediately recognized him from previous run-ins.

Murrell allegedly tried to purchase $200 worth of merchandise Saturday with a fraudulent PayPal card when Wahwed says he called police and tried to keep Murrell in the store.

That's when Wahwed claims Murrell reached for a lighter and a can of Axe cologne spray and tried to burn him. Wahwed was not harmed by the flames.

Murrell was arrested, he pleaded not guilty to several charges including assault and criminal weapons possession.

Minorities oughta chase every last one of ’em outta their communities! They’re all over the place in minority communities taking over all the Deli’s and grocery stores….. When it use be latin ppl in all the communities. there is something behind that with these Middle Eastern ppl suddenly working in every last Deli & grocery store.. in all the Minority communities. i notice this alot of years ago… while every body else wore blinders and rose colored glasses. How could America be so fkn stupid, and put greed over life.
