GEORGETOWN, Del. (AP/PIX11) — A former Baltimore Ravens cheerleader and the estranged wife of a prominent Maryland energy executive has been arrested and charged in connection with a sexual relationship involving a 15-year-old boy.
Delaware State Police said Wednesday that 47-year-old Molly Shattuck was indicted Monday on two counts of third-degree rape, four counts of unlawful sexual contact and three counts of providing alcohol to minors. She was released on $84,000 bond after a Wednesday arraignment.
Police say a 15-year-old boy reported that Shattuck began an inappropriate relationship with him near Baltimore and that it culminated with sexual activity at a vacation rental home in Bethany Beach, Delaware, over Labor Day weekend.
The relationship first blossomed after Shattuck commented on the teen’s Instagram photos, the New York Daily News reported. The online conversation eventually led to their first intimate encounter at an AMC movie theater in May, where the pair kissed and touched each other.
After the movies, Shattuck allegedly drove the boy to a middle school parking lot where they made out in the back seat of the cheerleader’s Cadillac Escalade, a search warrant obtained by The News said.
The making out and touching did not stop there. Officials say Shattuck and the boy eventually started spending lunch breaks from his summer chemistry class together.
The relationship became even more heated over Labor Day weekend when Shattuck invited the boy to a Delaware beach house with her son and his friends. According to officials, Shattuck provided alcohol to the boy and had oral sex with him while the rest of house partied on the rooftop.
The cheerleader had oral sex with him a second time later in the night, officials said. She also stripped her clothes off and said she would have sex with him again if he ever wanted to. After that weekend, however, the boy never contacted her again.
He reported her to authorities after Shattuck contacted him on Instagram weeks after the sex and booze-filled weekend.
Shattuck is separated from Mayo Shattuck, former CEO of Baltimore-based Constellation Energy Nuclear Group. They are now going through a divorce, WBAL-TV reported.
Shattuck’s attorney didn’t return a call for comment.
