‘Shocktails’ perfect for toasting on Halloween

The Gory Grape


  • 2 oz Punzoné Vodka
  • 4 oz lemonade
  • Splash of grape juice
  • Seedless red grapes
  • Lemon lime seltzer
  • Black sanding sugar


  • Use lime wedge to rim a rocks glass then coat with black sugar, then muddle 4 grapes in each glass‎. Add vodka, lemonade and grape juice to a shaker with ice, shake well and pour over muddled grapes. Top with seltzer.

The Bloody Pearl


  • 2 oz William Wolf Bourbon
  • 3 oz Blood Orange Juice
  • 1/2 oz lemon juice
  • Lemon lime seltzer
  • Ripe pears


  • Combine bourbon, blood orange juice and lemon juice in a shaker over ice, shake well and pour into a martini or wine glass‎ filled with pear "pearls". Top with seltzer.‎

For pear pearls

  • Use a small melon baller to scoop round spheres from ‎the thickest part of a pear. Dip rounds into diluted lemon water to prevent browning. Place balls on a cookie sheet and freeze for 20-30 mins.

Murky Molé


  • 1 oz Patrón XO Cafe Incendio
  • 1 oz silver tequila
  • 1 oz orange juice
  • Strawberry Gelatin
  • Chilled Club Soda


  • Stir gelatin vigorously breaking it into tiny chunks then set aside. Add liqueur, tequila and orange juice to an old fashioned glass and stir. Fill the rest of glass with club soda then add 2-3 heaping tbsps of gelatin and stir gently. Gelatin will float at the top creating a "murky" film.
