(PIX11) — Wal-Mart markets “Fat Girl Costumes” for their plus-sized Halloween shoppers.

The “Fat Girls Costumes” section, which was first criticized by customers on social media, has since been renamed to “Women’s Plus Size Halloween Costumes.”

Despite the name change, the original “Fat Girl” link still appeared as such on Facebook Monday afternoon, but a Wal-Mart representative says the company is working to remove it.

“This never should have been on our site. It is unacceptable, and we apologize.  We are working to remove it as soon as possible and ensure this never happens again,” Wal-Mart representative Ravi Jariwala said in a statement.

The company also addressed the incident on Twitter.
