WEST JORDAN, Utah (PIX11) — The rest of America may be gearing up for Halloween, but one neighborhood in Utah has expedited the Holiday season for a 4-year-old boy who may not make it until Christmas.

Last week, Ethan Van Leuven’s family learned that his life-long battle with acute lymphoblastic
leukemia will soon come to an end, giving him weeks, maybe days, to live. But for his neighbors, that meant celebrating his last holidays a little sooner.

Last Tuesday, neighbors were equipped with candy so little Ethan could go door-to-door, trick-or-treeting with his young peers to celebrate his last Halloween. On Thursday, Ethan celebrated his 5th birthday–one month early, and Christmas Eve came early on Friday with decorations and presents galore. Mr. and Mrs. Claus even turned up for the event.

Without the help of Good Samaritans, Ethan may have never experienced the special occasions that so many take for granted.
