RIDGEWOOD, N.J. (PIX11)-- Police are looking for a driver who allegedly tried to lure a female into his van in Ridgewood Monday afternoon.

The incident happened on East Ridgewood Avenue near Hope Street around 3 p.m.

Officials say the driver, who is described as a male in his early 50s, slowed down on East Ridgewood Avenue and asked the victim if she wanted some candy.

She did not engage with the driver and instead took a picture of the fleeing van.

The vehicle is possibly a Black Ford Econoline van with New Jersey plates, 2007 through 2013 model year with running boards and backup sensors on the rear bumper, police say.

There was also a passenger in the van, who officials say is a younger dark-skinned man that did not say or do anything during the encounter.
