THE BRONX (PIX11) – A body with multiple stab wounds was found Thursday in a Bronx park used by students of a nearby school, police said.

A passerby made the grisly discovery shortly after 9 a.m. at a park in the 300 block of 135th Street, next door to P.S. 154 Jonathan D. Hyatt.

Police say the unidentified 50-year-old man had been stabbed in the back of the head and the chest.

The man was pronounced dead on the way to Lincoln Hospital.

P.S. 154 serves students in pre-k to fifth grade. Class was in session Thursday while investigators probed the man's death.

The victim's identity is being withheld pending family notification.
