SINGAPORE (PIX11) — A Pizza Hut customer received an insulting receipt and now the fast-food chain is investigating.
Aili Si purchased two pizza pies Sunday night from Bukit Merah Pizza Hut Outlet in Singapore. In addition to the food, Si was given a receipt that had “Pink Fat Lady” written across it.
Si went to Pizza Hut Singapore’s Facebook page to share a photo of the receipt. Insulted by what it said, Si wrote “I don’t think it is nice for your staff to describe me as such.”
“As a customer I definitely hope to be treated with basic respect deserved by any others. I hope to receive an apology from the staff and Pizza Hut,” Si commented.
In a separate comment, Si said “Just feel insulted. What’s wrong being plus size? I’m a customer n [sic] I pay for my pizza! Not that I’m get it for free!”
Pizza Hut Singapore responded to the wall post the same night. They issued the following statement to her:
Hi Aili, this definitely rocked us in our seats. That should not have happened at all and we feel that we cannot begin to appropriately apologise to you at this point, but we are, indeed, sorry for this. We’re glad you brought this to our attention. Our team is keen on finding out further details of this incident in order to launch an investigation. It would be great if you could kindly reach out to us via PM with your contact number so that we can get in touch with you directly. Thank you.
The post has since been shared more than 300 times. Several Facebook users showed support for Si, while others told her to lose weight.
This is not the first time a customer received an offensively marked item from a fast-food joint. In April, a California woman sued Subway for writing “Big Mama” on her Flatizza pizza box.
