NEW YORK (PIX11) – Troubled former Nickelodeon star Amanda Bynes went on a Twitter rant Friday morning, accusing her father of alleged emotional and physical abuse before taking back the accusations saying “The microchip in my brain made me say those things.”
In a flury of rambling tweets, Bynes accused her father of exposing himself to her on multiple occasions when she was younger, and being “verbally and physically” abusive. PIX11 reached out to the attorney representing Bynes’ parents, Richard and Lynn Barnes, but did not received a comment. The attorney’s office did, however, give TMZ the following statement, “My clients are heartbroken by these false accusations. Their older children are also horrified at the situation.”
The 28-year-old Bynes, who was recently seen dancing bizarrely inside New York City store Pookie & Sebastian, according to TMZ, is going through an especially tough time. After she was caught setting a small fire in a California driveway this summer, a judge gave her mother temporary conservatorship following psychiatric treatment.
Lynn Bynes, ended the conservatorship September 27, three days before it was set to expire. Two days later, California Highway Patrol officers arrested Bynes on suspicion of DUI.
For the past week she has been in New York City where she’s had a decidedly rocky visit leading up to Friday’s Twitter accusations — which she finally recanted, saying:
TMZ reports that Bynes has since flown back to Los Angeles, where her parents and doctors have placed her on a 5150 psychiatric hold at a hospital.
