EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (PIX11) — A vehicle carrying several members of the military was struck on the New Jersey Turnpike, causing it to overturn.

The crash occurred around 4:40 p.m., on Sunday near exit 16W in East Rutherford.

Police say a tractor-trailer slammed into the vehicle.

The impact of the crash overturned the vehicle.

Military personnel were able to upright the vehicle and pull the trapped passengers from inside.

It’s unknown if anyone was injured.
