Man falls 20 feet down Manhattan elevator shaft

(PIX11) -- A man plummeted two stories down an elevator shaft in Manhattan Thursday morning, fire officials said.

It was reported about 6:15 a.m. at 10 Columbus Circle, a 10-story building, according to a spokesman for FDNY.

The unidentified man was taken to a hospital in serious condition. It was not immediately known if he was working at the building.
