HOPEWELL JUNCTION, N.Y. (AP) — Funeral services are set in the Hudson Valley for the New York City police officer killed in a crash on a Bronx highway last weekend.

Calling hours for Michael Williams are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the McHoul Funeral Home in Hopewell Junction in Dutchess County. His funeral starts at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church in nearby LaGrangeville.

Williams will be buried in Union Valley Cemetery in Mahopac in neighboring Putnam County.

Williams died early Sunday morning when the van he was riding in hit a concrete barrier on a Bronx expressway. Eight other officers being transported to their work assignments were injured.

The 25-year-old Williams graduated from a Poughkeepsie-area high school and worked as a part-time sheriff's deputy before joining the NYPD earlier this year.
