NEW YORK (PIX11) — The funeral for officer Michael C. Williams, who was killed in a Bronx bus crash on Sunday, will be held in LaGrangeville on Thursday.

Williams just joined the NYPD last January. Eight other officers were injured in the crash that involved their police van.

Those nine officers were en route to two assignments in Manhattan.

Williams was in the most rear seat of the police van when it struck the center divide barrierĀ on the Bruckner Expressway.

Police say the van careened 92 feet and the rookie cop was ejected from the rear of the van. He was rushed to Lincoln Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The crash is still being investigated, with speed and weather conditions being examined.
