Death of 19-year-old Rutgers student may be alcohol-related: police

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (PIX11) — Police are investigating the death of a 19-year-old Rutgers University student who died early this morning at a New Jersey hospital.

Caitlyn P. Jovacs of the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital  by friends around 3 a.m. and appeared to be in distress while attending a small party at the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity house at 78 College Ave. in New Brunswick.

Jovacs was pronounced dead at 3:19 a.m.

Initial investigations have shown that the death may be alcohol-related. The cause of death will be determined by an autopsy by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office.
