(PIX11) -- There's little that can be shared about the first 10 years of Marnie's life.

She was found by Animal Control, smelly and matted on the streets of Connecticut in August 2012. She went unclaimed and was moved to a shelter where they named her "Stinky."

Marnie was adopted by Shirley Braha, her current owner, after four months at the shelter, via petfinder.com.  Marnie suffered from an illness called vestibular syndrome, which is also known as "old dog" disease.  She is now a survivor.

Marnie has gone on to steal the hearts of everyone she encounters. She is currently the most popular dog on instagram, with over 140,000 followers.
