(PIX11)-- Ray Rice is expected to appeal the NFL's decision to suspend him indefinitely, according to ESPN.

The former Baltimore Ravens running back was cut by the team, last week.

The move was made after TMZ released the surveillance video of him knocking out his then-fiance and now wife in a New Jersey casino elevator.

The Ravens are now offering an exchange of Ray Rice jerseys at their stadium.

Since the indefinite suspension was imposed under the personal-conduct policy, commissioner Roger Goodell will have the ultimate authority over the appeal.
