‘R’ train service between Brooklyn and Manhattan is back

NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Workers finished the job and riders are riding again.

A press conference was scheduled by the Governor's office for Sunday afternoon to announce the Monday morning opening. Last week, The MTA would not confirm exactly when the train may run again between Brooklyn and Manhattan.

In August 2013, the MTA began a repair and improvement project. The scheduled completion date was to be October 2014.

Friday morning crews were seen replacing signs and painting the Court Street station in downtown Brooklyn.
