(PIX11) -- As the nation and world stops to remember the lives lost 13 years ago in the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, joining them are generations who did not experience the attacks as they happened but who are learning of their significance through the media, or anyone who has a connection with that fateful day.

PIX11 News mets with a high school senior in New Jersey who has now made it his mission to ensure others never forget 9/11.

Kyle Pavlik, 17, is building a 9/11 memorial in Haworth, NJ.

Pavlik's work uses three pieces of twisted, rusted World Trade Center steel  and is displayed in front of the Haworth Fire Department.
