CONEY ISLAND (PIX11) – Police are trying to identify the badly-decomposed body they discovered on the roof of a Brooklyn building Thursday.

Emergency operators received a call around 10:30 a.m. to report human remains discovered on top of 2930 West 30th Street in Coney Island.

It’s unclear if the person was male or female.

The gruesome find was made just blocks from where 74-year-old Crucita “Lucy” Alvarado went missing on August 12th.

She was last seen wearing black sweat pants, an orange or black tee and a grey, white and black wind breaker.

The body will be brought to the Medical Examiner for a full report.
