LOS ANGELES, Calif. (PIX11) — Six Flags Magic Mountain’s iconic Colossus roller coaster caught fire Monday afternoon.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the fire at the Santa Clarita amusement park just after 1:30 p.m., fire inspector Scott Miller told KTLA5.

The fire burned through a peak of the wooden roller coaster, causing a portion of it to fall through. Colossus ceased operation in August after 36 years and was set to be replaced by the Twisted Colossus in 2015.

It is unclear how the fire started.
