NORTH FLUSHING, Queens (PIX11) - This dramatic video was taken from a surveillance camera on the side of the Geva family home.

At exactly 3:30 pm, the rain and wind were so strong that the storm ripped off a huge heavy limb from this 50-year-old cherry tree then tossed it on top on this red Honda FIT.

"We don't fit in our FIT anymore," Judy Geva, car owner, told PIX 11. "Now it's a convertible."

The sturdy old cherry tree had been struck by lightning 10 years earlier you can see the charred bark  from that earlier hit.

"For five or ten minutes, the wind and rain were so strong, it was really scary," Diane Siebert, a North Flushing resident said.

Just around the corner, another grand seemingly sturdy old tree was totally uprooted and came crashing down on the Dubois backyard and garage.

"I wonder if it was a tornado," Antolin Dubois, storm victim, said.

On 32nd avenue the wait continues for Con Ed and the insurance adjusters to figure out the extent of the damage.

"My windshields are smashed," Patricia Giudici, car owner, told PIX 11. "I am waiting to see all the damage once they lift the tree limb off my car."
