Injured war vet trains for international sporting competition

YONKERS (PIX11)-- SSG Michael Kacer is a Yonkers veteran. He lost his left arm in a rocket attack in Afghanistan in 2008, and has also suffered from Traumatic Brain Injury.

Despite his injuries, 32-year-old Kacer has competed in swim and track meets for the last 6 years. He began training hard two years after his injury.

Now, he's taking his training to London's Invictus games,

Kacer considers himself very lucky.

His girlfriend Jessica is heading to London to support Kacer. They met and fell in love two years after Kacer became injured.

Kacer's ultimate goal is competing in the Paralympics in Rio de Janiero, Brazil in 2016.
