Andrew Madoff, Bernie Madoff’s surviving son, dies of lymphoma

NEW YORK (PIX11) - Bernie Madoff's son Andrew Madoff has died of lymphoma Wednesday after a long battle with cancer.

The surviving son of the disgraced Ponzi scheme architect, Andrew Madoff was pronounced dead at Sloan Kettering Cancer Center where he was surrounded by friends and family, according his attorney, Martin Flumenbaum.

Bernie Madoff's older son, Mark, hung himself inside his Manhattan apartment in December of 2010.

Convicted of duping investors out of an estimated $17 billion, Bernie Madoff is serving a 150-year prison sentence.
